Olympic Games Spell Economic Boost for London and Adjoining Areas

According to Chris Roberts, leader of the Greenwich Council, the upcoming Olympic Games, to be hosted by the UK, is expected to bring about the much needed revitalisation of the London economy, in terms of jobs as well as investment to the region, provided of course someone takes the initiative to do something about it.

This comment comes in the wake of the rise in expectation in the property market after the Greenwich council decided to move its offices to the new space at Greenwich Peninsula. The Greenwich Council is planning to create its new shared offices in about 20,000 Sq ft of space that is available on two floors of the Six Mitre Passage building on the Greenwich Peninsula, which is supposed to be only a stop away from Canary Wharf.

This move on the part of the Greenwich Council is expected to attract other companies to shift their offices and move into desk space available at the Greenwich Peninsula. According to the Greenwich council, the Peninsula was created along the lines of other cities that have hosted the Olympic Games and created such infrastructure to meet the increasing economic demands of the city during and after the Olympic Games.

The current problem faced by the Council is regarding the identification of means to exploit the current scenario such that it benefits the overall economic health of the region as well as the country. Given the fact that this peninsula is the first of its kind to be constructed in London for over ten years, it is even more important that the people of the city take full advantage and gain from it.
