Rapper Has Iron Man Two Cameo Cut
Wu-Tang Clan member and comic book fan Ghostface Killah, who filmed a cameo in “Iron Man” as a Dubai tycoon, never ended up making it into the final cut of the filmeven though his “We Celebrate” video did. Ghost Face Kilah, a long time fan of Iron Man comics, filmed a cameo in “Iron Man” as a Dubai Tycoon, but the part was ultimately dropped and instead a video of his was shown on the plane. So did he get asked to return?
Ghost Face Killah thought he was cool enough to make an appearance in Iron Man 2. But Jon Favreau and the rest of the production team did not.
When asked about making the final cut Ghost Face had this to say:
“I don’t know about this new Iron Man s—,” Ghost told MTV News. “They didn’t call me, so I’m not in it.”
Well, that’s probably a good thing. Ghost Face goes on to let us in about his Iron man experience.
“I got paid last time, though,” he laughed. “I got 30Gs last time.”
That’s a lot of money to shell out for a cameo. I wonder how much Dave Chapelle had to fork over for them to use the phrase, “Wu Tang Klan aint nothing to mess with”. Ghost Face being in Iron Man 2 is the equivalent of Mudflap being in Transformers Revenge of The Fallen, it doesn’t need to happen. With cameos costing that much, Marvel are probably glad that the iron man dvd is selling so we..
So, while you shouldn’t expect to see Ghostface Killah in the sequel to last year’s blockbuster, at least you know how much a cameo in the film can yield.
