Interview Presentation Steers
If you are called for an interview, then it is likely that you will be asked to give a presentation as well.
You need to prepare for your presentation as well as your consultant NHS interview
Here are some hints to help you condition for your interview presentations
| |
talk topics are provided to shortlisted candidates with interview details. A powerpoint display is to be recommended. |
Expect to deliver your presentation to a bigger group than will be at your interview. There is unlikely to be an advanced announcement of the presentation audience. |
The talk may take somewhere between 3 minutes to a quarter of an hour. |
Keep the tone light and general, but ensure that you keep to the timings. |
Definitely take the chance to rehearse your talk. You have 100% control of your image management at this stage and you must take that control. |
If the talk is in an department where you have previously worked or where you are acquainted, you are likely to feel more nervous than in an organization where most of the audience is unknown. Recognise this beforehand and practice the display. |
Do not make assumptions about what the audience knows ” present as if you and the audience have little knowledge about each other, and assume some of the audience (eg Lay Chair, Faculty representative) have no or little knowledge of the unit/ area about which you are talking. |
